In September 2023, we received a call about a kitten on the street with severe balance issues, unable to stand up or feed herself. We picked up Misty and took her to the vets for a thorough examination and a number of tests to determine the cause of her balance problems.

Misty underwent several tests, and thankfully, we were able to rule out FIP, FIV, and other suspected diseases. She had X-rays done on her head, and the results came out normal.

Misty’s back leg balance issues have completely disappeared. She can run and jump normally. There is a very slight wobble at the end, but it does not hinder her from leading a normal life. We also discovered that Misty is deaf.

 

We don’t know what happened to Misty before she came into our care. The most probable cause of her balance issues could be either being hit by a car and somehow surviving it, falling from a high place, or being struck with a blunt instrument or kicked. We suspect it's the latter.

 

Whatever has happened to her, that's all behind her now. She is in foster care in Kahramanmars, Turkey, until she finds a forever home abroad.

Misty is a super sweet girl and gets along well with other cats. She is available for adoption in the UK, Europe, USA, and Canada. She would need to be an indoor cat due to her hearing impairment.
