Finley was rescued from a shelter in Turkey under heartbreaking conditions. Blind in both eyes, he had been locked in a tiny metal cage with no hope of ever making it out alive. He was desperately unwell, in need of urgent veterinary care, a warm and safe place to call home, and the comfort of regular meals.

We don't know exactly what happened to Finley, but we believe he lost his sight due to an untreated eye infection while living on the streets. It’s likely someone brought him to the shelter hoping he’d receive the help he needed – sadly, that couldn’t have been further from the truth.

​

Thankfully, one of our volunteers spotted him and knew he couldn’t be left behind. Finley is now safe with us, receiving the care and love he has always deserved.

Despite his blindness, he’s incredibly affectionate, gentle, and adapts beautifully to his surroundings. He gets along well with other cats and dogs and continues to charm everyone he meets with his sweet nature.

Finley does occasionally experience short seizures, which last no more than 30 seconds. He is currently on medication that helps manage these episodes very well. The cause of his seizures is not fully known, but vets in Turkey advised that it is not epilepsy — it is more likely the result of neurological damage caused by his untreated eye infection, which sadly left lasting effects. Otherwise, he is healthy, happy, and truly a joy to have around.
