Eli is a from a town called Yusufeli in the Artvin province of Turkey near the Georgian border. We named her Eli  (the last three letters of the town), named after the town she is from.

 

Eli kept coming into an office building in search of food. A lady who is working in that office reached out to us to help Eli as she was tripod and looked like her tail got caught in something and snapped in half still bleeding. We had to save her as she would have swept away once the whole town was under water.  

 

We brought her to Istanbul which is 17 hours drive one way. It was complicated as we were running out of time before the dam was operational. No one in the area would even host her until we sent a driver. But we did it in the end.

Eli is currently in Istanbul staying with her foster mum safe and well. Happy to live in a home environment and not worry about going hungry or suffer in pain.

Eli will be available for adoption once she is fully treated, spayed and vaccinated.
